Data Structures and Algorithms for Placements
The DSA core that campus coding rounds actually test: Big-O, arrays, hashing, stacks, trees, graphs, binary search and dynamic programming, with Python code.
You will be able to
- Analyse the time and space complexity of a solution
- Apply two-pointer, sliding-window and hashing patterns to array problems
- Traverse trees and graphs with BFS and DFS
- Use binary search beyond simple sorted-array lookup
- Turn a recursive solution into a dynamic-programming solution
Before you start
Basic programming in any language (loops, functions, arrays). The 'Python from Zero' course is enough.
Who it's for: CSE, IT and allied-branch students preparing for campus placements and internship coding rounds (online assessments and technical interviews). Students from other branches targeting software roles are welcome too.
What you'll be able to do:
- Estimate time and space complexity of your own code
- Recognise common patterns: two pointers, sliding window, hashing, BFS/DFS, binary search, DP
- Choose the right data structure for a problem and justify it in an interview
- Write clean, tested solutions to classic problems
Examples are in Python, but the ideas carry over directly to C++ and Java.
