CSE roadmap: first year to first job

A year-by-year path for Computer Science students: fundamentals, DSA, projects, internships and placements.

Years are a guide, not a deadline. Students move at different speeds and in a different order; skip what you already know and spend longer where you need to. Steps marked Optional are worth doing if they fit your goals.

  1. First year

    Build the base; don't chase frameworks yet.

  2. Second year

    DSA seriously, plus your first real project.

  3. Third year

    Internships are the goal; everything feeds that.

  4. Fourth year

    Convert: placements, offers, and finishing strong.

This is guidance written by the UniCircle team, not a rulebook, and it promises no outcome. Pair it with the live openings, the courses and interview practice, and ask seniors in your college community what actually worked for them.
