Eligibility
- Class XII marks above 80th percentile of successful candidates in the stream
- Gross family income up to Rs 4.5 lakh per annum
- Regular degree course at AICTE-recognised / regulator-approved institution
- Not receiving another scholarship or fee waiver
- Reservations for girls (50%), SC, ST, OBC and benchmark disabilities apply
- Courses: Regular degree courses at AICTE-recognised or regulator-approved institutions; correspondence, distance and diploma courses not eligible
Seats: up to 82,000 fresh scholarships a year, 50% for girls (NSP, checked 21 Oct 2026).

How to apply
- Step 1: Apply online only on the National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in)
- Step 2: Application is verified by the institute, then by the State Higher Education Department or nominated agency
- Step 3: Selection lists appear on NSP; payment status tracked on PFMS
