"Walk me through the most important project on your resume." Prepare a two-minute answer and the follow-up questions you should expect.
Show the explanation
Structure (about two minutes).
- Problem: what it does and for whom, in one sentence.
- Your role: solo or team; what you built.
- Design: the main components and one or two key decisions with the reason (e.g. "PostgreSQL because the data is relational").
- Hardest problem: a specific bug or constraint and how you solved it.
- Result: users, performance numbers, or what you would improve.
Expect follow-ups: "Why this technology and not X?", "How would it handle 100× more users?", "What would you change now?", and line-level questions about any code you claim. Only list what you can explain in depth; interviewers often pick the least-explained bullet on your resume.
